Measuring for Valances
Use our guide below will help you capture the correct measurements ahead of ordering your new made to measure valances.
How to measure for valances and pelmets
Valances can only be used with a curtain track and must hang from a valance track that runs in front of it.
Measuring for Valances / Pelmets
Please measure the valance rail not the curtain track width. This is normally 30cm wider than the curtain rail it is fitted to, due to the returns on either end.
The measurement to enter is A+B+C
Valance / Pelmet headings
Valances come in a choice of either pencil pleat or pinch pleat headings. In addition, should you decide on a pinch pleat valance you can choose to add matching covered buttons
Valance / Pelmet linings
We recommend that you choose the same lining for your valance as you have chosen for your curtains.
You can choose from our Standard, Premium, Thermal, Blackout and Luxury linings.
Valance / Pelmet shapes
We offer both straight and shaped curtain valances.
Straight valances have a 38cm (14") drop. Shaped valances are available in two drops: 40cm at the ends and 28cm in the centre or 50cm at the ends and 30cm in the centre.
